A race that values both tradition and innovation and therefore full of possibilities

Powerful and clever, the Humans learn quickly and are friendly with other races. Inherited wisdom and innovative minds allow them the capability to succeed in any profession.

They possess particular levels of energy, mental attributes and the potential for growth. Can take on all classes. However, their energy levels are lower than that of Beasts and their mental attributes are weaker than those of Elves.

"Music is a Legacy"

The humans gained "Tuning" as a new skill from interacting with other races, and implementing that along with inherited tradition, they once again set out into the unknown.

A magnificent history from monarchy to republic

The largest population in the Neume, the Humans built cities in the sky at an early stage, and implemented traditions left from the Great War to develop a new enriched culture.

After 26 years of war, the Kolthort Kingdom was finally established, and enjoyed two centuries of prosperity under a feudal social system. The performing arts were restored and elaborated on themes such as royalty and chivalry.

However, the tyranny of territorial governors tore apart the nation, and the rebellions of Fire Beasts and other internal conflicts had the kingdom on the verge of collapse. In the end, a republic was established by Aulos Oliver. The Humans' cultural exchanges with Elves after the Serpent War have resulted in a cultural evolution focusing on sciences, economy and technology. The Humans used Sky Ships to discover new floating islands and began expanding its territory, forcing the Beasts under colonization, burying the seed of tragedy for Neume.

In A.S. 720, Clarion made himself King and established the Kolthort Empire. The government launched a extreme segregation act, and Beasts and Elves were wiped out massively, which resulted in the breakout of the Concerto War.

After the Concerto War, the Federal Army overthrew the Empire and built a new nation known as the Kolthort Republic.

A Passionate Sub-race that worships the Wind and Sun

A sub-race with strongly-built physical appearances, copper-toned skin, white hair and features that bear some resemblance to cats. The male and female differ greatly on the outside; a grown male Beast can assume a height as tall as 7 meters, while a female beast would only ever be as tall as Humans. They worship the Sun, the Wolf and the Mountain Lion, and are scattered around in tribes on the tropical islands.

Stronger than Humans, Beasts are most suited for a class that requires strength. However, their mental attributes are weak. They have difficulty concentrating and lack unity as a group.

Conflict between Humans and Beasts

The Beasts lived in scattered tribal units in a land with no obvious boundaries and did not form a unified nation until the Humans came. In its heyday, the Beasts boasted a population of over 1 million. However, the Beasts observed polygamy, and therefore needed overall support to rule all the tribes.

In A.S. 555, the Humans moved into the land of the Beasts and began a cruel colonization.

The severe oppression of Humans resulted finally in a strikeback by the Beasts, and what used to be scattered conflicts became the "Concerto War." Towards the end, the Beasts received help from the Elves and finally became an independent nation known as the "Principality of Euphonium".

The Beasts are heavily built, possess enpowering strength, recover easily, and are skilled in physical combat. They brought in muskets invented by the Elves and developed a martial art combining archery and physical combat, and called it "Gun Karate". Although the population has waned after the war, the Beasts remain a decisive role in Neume.

Miniatures that control high-tech and remain iron-willed in the land of ice and snow

Elves have sharp ears, pastel-coloured hair, fair skin and a height that causes them to often be mistaken as 6 or 7-year-old Humans.

Despite their drawback on appearance and strenght, the Elves' wisdom and agility shouldn't be underestimated. They possess mysterious powers that are based on their mental attributes. They are straightforward and tend to move in groups. Elves rely heavily on technology and uses it in all kinds of events, and can easily manage any kind of weapon.

"Music is the Key to the Truth"

Having mastered the high-tech "Tuning" skills, the Elves have opened the doors to Fon, and led Neume into a whole new era.

From desolation and hardships to the peak of Neume civilization

In the ancient times, the Elves were cast out by Humans to the bleak land of Ophicleide, where it snows all year round and is unsuitable for living. But after the Industrial Revolution, the Elves' technology improved greatly, and Ophicleide has now developed into an industrial city. Its inventions--sky ships, weaponry and Tuning--have brought great changes to Neume.

The conflict between Humans and Elves over the years ultimately brought forth a war that lasted eight years. Finally, the war ended in a truce, and the two races formed the Serpent Union. The highest commander, Wyona XII, is a pure-blooded Elf.
